At aQysta we are working hard to link small holder farmers to markets, we do that by adding value to their products in our (pilot) processing plant. We are looking for a Food Safety specialist to help with the scaling up and professionalization of the processing plant and ensuring the safety of the products that we are bringing to the market.

TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Join our dynamic team as a Food Quality Specialist, where you’ll ensure the food safety and quality of our products, help implementing HACCP plans, prepare for audits and certification.

  • Besides that, you will be playing a key role in assuring the safety of products during new product development projects.

  • As a key member of our team, you will be assisting with growing the professionalization of the processing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily checks on the food products to ensure safety and quality standards.

  • Supervise general food safety within the factory, think about cleaning, hygiene, pest management, allergen management.

  • Perform monthly hygiene checks to make sure the general food safety is ensured.

  • Help implement HACCP principles and European Food Safety Standards.

  • Prepare for audits and certification of the required certification schemes.

  • During new product development projects, ensure that the integrity of the food products are maintained.

  • Work together with production to increase the efficiency of production.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in food safety, food engineering, food technology or nutrition.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related position.

  • Private sector experience preferred.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Nepali.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.

  • Excellent work ethic, serving as a role model for colleagues.

  • Trustworthiness.
